Barry S. Spurlock has over 10 years of collective experience
in the occupational safety profession working in
manufacturing (plant and divisional levels), workers'
compensation loss control and academia.  He holds a
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety and Risk
Management and a Master’s degree in Loss Prevention
and Safety Administration. In addition to his work as a
workers compensation loss control consultant, Barry
teaches course in occupational safety management and
safety science at Indiana University.  In 2003 he was
nominated by his students for an excellence in teaching
award. He currently serves as President-Elect of the
Louisville Chapter of American Society of Safety Engineers
(ASSE). Barry is a frequent speaker at corporate, regional,
state and national safety conferences, including the annual
ASSE Professional Development Conference and the
National Safety Congress.

Keith Wertz is the Loss Control Manager for Midwestern
Insurance Alliance, a mono-line workers' compensation
insurance carrier, specializing in providing workers'
compensation coverage for small and medium-sized
businesses. As Loss Control Manager, Keith has spent more
than 12 years providing one-on-one consultative assistance
to small businesses, and in so doing has helped hundreds of
small businesses prevent injuries, control the cost of workers'
comp claims, and drive-down insurance premiums.  Keith is
the co-author of the 2000 title entitled
